two: the world as it seems
How months have passed since my previous edit.
This was supposed to be a recommendation blog when I first gave it a fresh new look. But I don't really wanna go back to my previous blog as it's really old, and emotional. I figured I'll just update whatever it is that I feel important to me on here.

So,
it's December.
The irony don't you think? For the first time in my life I want the year to finish as quick as it came. I bet I'm not the only one feeling this way. 2020 really isn't a splendid year for anyone. We welcomed Covid-19 into the year, which then became the spotlight as soon as it arrives. The world has lost so many lives; loved ones, dear ones; young and old. Then came the bushfires in Australia and the Amazon Rainforest fires. In a Christian pov, I thought about how God beheld the corruption of the earth and determined to destroy it. He gave Noah; a righteous man found favour in the eyes of the Lord (Genesis 6:8) divine warning of the impending disaster that would wipe out the human race in a Flood. I thought about how our human race have sinned so much that such a similar disaster could happen to us.
In a scientific pov, Mother Nature is indeed displeased at us. Look at how our greed and selfishness has led to more destruction of life on Earth. How Mother Nature gave us a place to call home; live and breathe, but all most of us are doing is take more of what we receive. A day will come when it will be too late, and there will be little to no chance for a change.
It's also at a time like this that humans will start to appreciate what they have and reevaluate their actions. Why is it that we have to experience loss and grief, before actually opening up our hearts to kinder words and actions? Why is it that we will only begin to reconsider how blessed we are at dire times like this, when some parts of the world are facing famine, homelessness, war, altogether with the ongoing pandemic? If you are able to enjoy your time off from the work-from-home-situation during a lockdown, consider yourself blessed and privileged, truly.
As a new year is approaching in less than 30 days, we could try to amplify gratitude for the food that we were still able to put on our tables, for the roof over our heads, for the dedication and preserverance our frontliners have been exercising for the past 12 months, and most importantly for the health and safety of our families and ourselves. It is both a blessing and a joy, to be able to overcome what the world is throwing at us right now.
May 2021 be a good one, with more love and kindness to give.
